The Flask Prize is a cross-disciplinary award for women scientists from various fields of science and technology, which is presented annually. It was established by the Foundation for the Development of Professional Initiatives “Women in the Nuclear Industry” in order to popularize women scientists, highlight significant achievements in the field of science and technology, exchange experience and knowledge, as well as create space for interaction between business and science in order to form a large women’s community, creating a personnel and intellectual reserve. This is a cross-industry award for women scientists from various fields of science and technology, which is presented annually. Prize winners receive an insignia and non-material support in the form of publishing an interview on the prize website.
“As astronomer Vera Rubin said : “Science is competitive, aggressive and demanding. But it is also creative, inspiring and uplifting. You can do it too. Each of you can change the world, because you are created from star matter and connected to the Universe.”
The Flask Prize is not only recognition of scientific achievements in various fields, but also an important step towards recognizing the achievements of women in science. I am proud that my work in physics is recognized and appreciated, and I hope that this will be an incentive for other women to overcome any stereotypes and never be afraid to achieve outstanding results in the scientific and popular science fields,” commented Alena Mastyukova, whose work were awarded the Flask-2023 Prize for their contribution to the development of physical sciences.
Alena Mastyukova studies decoherence processes in many-particle quantum systems and develops quantum algorithms. She is a frequent speaker at popular science events where she discusses her research interests, including quantum computing, quantum computer programming, and quantum machine learning. Alena Mastyukova's scientific works were awarded a RAS medal for young scientists, a scholarship from the President of the Russian Federation for young scientists and graduate students carrying out advanced scientific research, and other awards.
National Prize in the field of future technologies “Challenge” was established by the Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Cultural Relations “Challenge” together with Gazprombank. The partners of the award are the state corporation Rosatom and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Moscow government. The Challenge Prize is timed to coincide with the Decade of Science and Technology announced in 2022 and is designed to recognize breakthrough ideas and inventions that are changing the landscape of modern science and the lives of every person.
