MOSCOW, July 17. A new method of health-improving physical education (HPE), based on the use of computer vision and individual analysis of motor acts, was created by NSPU scientists. According to the authors, the development will provide maximum benefit from the exercises and significantly reduce the risk of injury, the university press service reported.
In order for physical exercise to bring benefits to people, it is necessary to carefully master its technique, select the dosage and sequence of inclusion in the training program, said scientists from the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (NSPU).
According to them, in modern pedagogical practice there are no approaches based on optimization movements performed under the control of computer technology, as well as adequate methods of dosing physical exercise in accordance with the individual characteristics of the body.
NSPU researchers have developed a new method of health-improving physical culture (HPE), based on computer technology and individual analysis of motor acts. First, a computer program analyzes human movements and evaluates their kinematic characteristics and the load on the joints. Then, based on this data, exercises, their sequence and intensity are selected. In this case, the technique takes into account not only the level of preparedness of a person, but also the characteristics of his physique.
According to the authors, the development uses new technology in the field of OFC for the first time. Unlike existing computer vision technologies focused on analyzing movements in sports (mainly in disciplines requiring high amplitude and precision of technique), the development of NPGU scientists is suitable for people of any level of training and can be used in health-improving physical education programs. In addition, for the first time, it determines the load on key points of the body when performing physical exercise, which is necessary with a differentiated approach.
The development will help optimize recreational physical education classes , noted Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture for Academic Affairs of the NSPU Konstantin Zhomin.
“
“The program will allow trainers to select exercises and loads taking into account the individual characteristics of each person, as well as divide people into groups based on their capabilities. It will also help to identify and correct errors in the technique of performing exercises, which will reduce the risk of injury and increase the effectiveness of training. As a result, people will be able to improve their well-being, increase their performance and improve their health,” he said.
Scientists used the electromyography method in their work, which determines the bioelectric activity of muscles during motor action, assessing the hemodynamics of the body during classes and determining the mental performance of children after dosed physical activity .
The experimental implementation of the developed methodology is planned in September with the participation of educational organizations of the Novosibirsk region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Altai Republic and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
