MOSCOW, August 2 The part of the downed ATACMS missile in Sevastopol, which remains on General Ostryakov Avenue along with numerous submunitions, will be destroyed on the spot if it is not will be able to be removed, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported.
Earlier, part of General Ostryakov Avenue was cordoned off due to submunitions from the downed ATACMS missile lying on the road, in addition, operational services had to decide whether it was possible to transport parts of the missile for destruction at the testing ground.
“If the pyrotechnicians understand that it is impossible to remove part of the missile, then it will be destroyed on the spot with all the necessary safety measures. People who live in nearby houses will be additionally notified if it is necessary to leave their homes for a while,” Razvozhaev wrote on his Telegram channel.
The governor also noted that in connection with the removal of submunitions, this avenue and the alternate road will be closed to all types of transport until approximately 12:00, public transport will be launched according to a temporary scheme.
On Friday night, an air raid siren and ballistic threat were declared in the city, but they were later cancelled. Razvozzhaev reported that more than four air targets were shot down, including missiles with striking elements.
