The drivers of the Kazan-Adler passenger train, which derailed in the Volgograd region after colliding with a truck at a crossing, said during questioning that the driver could have driven onto the tracks on purpose. This is reported by Baza.
According to the Telegram channel, the 46-year-old driver said that they saw a truck approaching the tracks in the train cabin approximately 800-900 meters before the collision.
The driver gave a warning signal several times, but did not attach much importance to what was happening, since the KamAZ had time to stop.
However, the truck driver unexpectedly accelerated when there were about 200 meters left between the car and the train. According to the drivers, there was no way he could get through.
The drivers began to try to brake urgently, but it was already clear that the train would not have time to stop.
Recall that the disaster occurred on July 29 on the stretch between the Chilekovo and Kotelnikovo stations. As a result of the collision between the passenger train and the dump truck, nine cars derailed.
