The protagonists of the EV Channel and Weelyke YouTube have set themselves the task of traveling from the southern corner of the continent to the northernmost point of Europe in an electric car and checking how many hours it will take. The vehicle used was a Hyundai Ioniq 6, whose characteristics made it the ideal choice for the task. The goals also included breaking the record held by the Tesla Model 3 since 2021.
The final results show how things have improved in just two years, at least when it comes to charging infrastructure . At the same time, it took 63 hours and 35 minutes to cover the route from Cape Sao Vicente in the south of Portugal to Cape North Cape in Norway, with a length of 5 665 kilometers.
The adventure called “Transeuropeo El” é ;ctrica» The Ioniq 6 broke the record of the previous test, improving the record by seven hours. The latter happened, as we already said, two years ago with the Tesla Model 3 Long Range.
Jean-Christophe, Alexandre and Charles took turns driving the Hyundai Ioniq 6 for two and a half days, demonstrating that everything is possible and that the route time coincides with the time calculated by the Google Maps application for cars with internal combustion engines (59 hours).
According to the results of the race, the average consumption was 17.9 kWh for 100 km, which is a good record, considering that the bloggers traveled mostly on the highway and with three adults on on board.
