YAROSLAVL, November 11Investigators are looking into the cause of the collapse of supporting structures on the slope of the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky in Kaluga, taking into account the fact that this is the second collapse in a year, reports the SUSK of Russia for the Kaluga region.
«According to available data, on November 10, 2023, the collapse of supporting structures on the slope of the museum occurred, there were no casualties. A similar incident took place at the beginning of this year. Based on this fact, the investigative authorities… opened a criminal case,» the message says .
The case was initiated on the grounds of improper maintenance of the territory of the state museum. SUSK notes that as part of the investigation, two construction and technical forensic examinations have been appointed and are being carried out to determine the causes of the slope collapse.
According to SUSK, on Saturday investigators and criminologists inspected the site of the collapse and seized samples of materials used in the construction of the slope reinforcement. “The circumstances of the latest collapse of slope structures will be taken into account by the investigation and experts when preparing conclusions,” the investigation emphasizes.
It is also noted that, at the initiative of the investigative authorities, the rescue service of the city of Kaluga went to the scene of the incident, which fenced off the area for the safety of citizens.
