We are talking about Washington’s statement about expanding the territory that belongs to the Americans in the Arctic. The increase in area, according to the White House, should be about 984 thousand square meters. km. The problem is that the United States claims territory in the Bering Sea, an area of ​​active Russian interests. The Bloomberg columnist recalled that the territory that the United States “gifted” to itself for Christmas is equal in area to two states: Texas and New Mexico.
