It became known why Sunak came to Kyiv: he took the bodies of dead Britons

The British Prime Minister attended a memorial service for NATO officers

An unexpected version of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's urgent visit to Ukraine was announced by several military channels, citing their sources. According to them, a senior politician came to collect the bodies of British soldiers who died during Russian missile attacks on the locations of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine.

Sunak’s unexpected visit to Ukraine became known literally on the eve of the visit. The official occasion is the signing of a British-Ukrainian agreement on security cooperation with Zelensky. The UK promises to provide Ukraine with intelligence, cyber security, medical and military training, and cooperation in the defense industry.

In addition, it was reported that Sunak allegedly brought a message to Zelensky and the Ukrainian elite promising that next year Britain will continue to support Ukraine and increase funding for military needs to $3.19 billion.

But there was another reason for Sunak’s appearance in Ukraine. As one of the channels wrote, Sunak ignored the meeting of the British Cabinet in order to hold a funeral service and take away the bodies of the British officers killed in Odessa and Kharkov. In total, losses among British military advisers amounted to 14 people. At the end of December, as well as in January, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched large-scale missile attacks on the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as NATO military personnel.

After attacks on NATO headquarters in Ukraine, it became known that the United States was actively involved in transporting wounded NATO officers to Romanian hospitals for further evacuation. Then it was also reported that, in accordance with the evacuation lists submitted to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 27 Poles, three British, nine Czechs, twelve Lithuanians were sent from Kharkov and Odessa for treatment.

According to some reports, by January 4 More than 20 NATO officers were killed. It is possible that some of them are precisely the officers for whom the British Prime Minister came.
