MOSCOW, January 19. Honored Artist of Russia, soloist of the Tchaikovsky Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra, bassoonist Mikhail Shilenkov was found dead in the bathroom of the Lemar Hotel in Moscow, a law enforcement source said.
The orchestra confirmed the death of the musician, adding that the information the reason for it is not known. The source said that, according to preliminary data, Shilenkov died of acute heart failure.
Mikhail Shilenkov was born on September 8, 1977. In 2001 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. While still a student, he began playing in the capital's orchestras, and in 2003 he became the first bassoon of the Tchaikovsky Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra.
In addition, Shilenkov collaborated with outstanding contemporary musicians as part of chamber ensembles, and was one of the founders of the ensemble of ancient wind instruments L'esprit du Vent.
