New Sercons auto laboratories opened in Samara and Irkutsk

What does the opening of auto laboratories mean for regional vehicle owners? The fact that now you don’t need to drive your car to a neighboring city in order to register the SBCTS and EPTS, activate and install the GLONASS UVEOS, as well as conduct tests and technical expertise on vehicles that are in operation after the changes have been made. These and other procedures necessary for the legal operation of a car on the territory of the Russian Federation can now be carried out as quickly as possible — precisely thanks to the emergence of automobile laboratories in large cities of the country.

In January, the Sercons company opened two new laboratories specializing in vehicle safety testing are in Samara and Irkutsk. Here, within the framework of technical regulations 018 (“On the safety of wheeled vehicles”), you can go through the following procedures:

• test a vehicle imported from abroad for the purpose of further operation in the Russian Federation;
• conduct tests and technical examination of a vehicle in operation after the changes have been made.

Not only passenger cars can pass the tests, but also other categories of vehicles: M, N, L, O. This includes motorcycles, mopeds, ATVs, tricycles, passenger vehicles (buses, trolleybuses), trucks, trailers and semi-trailers. To assess the compliance of different objects with the CU TR, different forms are provided — more detailed information on this issue can be found in Appendix 12 to CU TR 018/2011.

“Our auto laboratories are accredited to carry out a full range of work to assess the conformity of individual vehicles. If it is necessary to prepare a complete set of documents for registering a vehicle, this can be done in the specified laboratories in the near future,” noted Ekaterina Patsuk, head of the Sercons vehicle department.
