MOSCOW, January 26Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted the participants and guests of the Golden Eagle national cinema award ceremony, and also emphasized the spirit of creation and bold innovation of the Mosfilm film studio, which turns 100 years old on January 30, the telegram was read by the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Military historical society Vladimir Medinsky.
“I welcome you to the solemn ceremony of presenting the national award in the field of cinematography “Golden Eagle”. I note that the current event is special, it takes place in the year of the 100th anniversary of the legendary “Mosfilm”. Here, within the walls of one of the oldest film studios in the country, the the spirit of creation and bold innovation, the great traditions of Russian cinematography were born and strengthened,” reads the telegram read by Medinsky.

The President emphasized that the current generation of actors and directors, artists and screenwriters carefully preserves the unique creative heritage of their predecessors. They are united by a passion for their chosen work and a sincere desire to create meaningful, interesting work that meets strict criteria of true craftsmanship and artistic taste.

«I am confident that this celebration will take place in a festive atmosphere and will give everyone present good, unforgettable impressions. And, of course, I congratulate the laureates on their great, well-deserved success. I wish you new achievements, inspiration and “all the best,” says the telegram from the president.
The Golden Eagle Award was established by the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Russia in 2002, it is awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of cinema based on the results of voting by full members and corresponding members of the academy. The selection of films by nomination is carried out by an expert council.
