MOSCOW, January 28 The tastes and preferences of Chinese consumers have been actively changing in recent years, as reported in the Russian Export News Telegram channel.
““These changes are associated with China’s economic success, increasing urban population, rising incomes and the development of online commerce,” the report said.
It notes that Chinese society is becoming increasingly affluent. Consumers now want access to high-quality products and services. This includes food and beverages, home appliances, electronics, automobiles and clothing. They look for variety in the goods and services they buy.
The Chinese have begun to pay more and more attention to environmental sustainability and product safety. They prefer products that do not harm the environment and human health.
Thus, Chinese consumers are increasingly interested in food products from Russia. This can be seen from the sales at the first festival-fair “Made in Russia”, taking place these days in Liaoning province.
For example, wheat flour from domestic producers is popular: local buyers say it produces twice as much noodles. Recently, there has been a very high demand for Russian salt. Also, Chinese buyers showed special interest in goods from Russia that are unusual for residents of the Celestial Empire: chaga drinks, bottled Altai water, apple meringues, honey. Demand for Russian alcoholic products is growing.
