Chubais became a co-organizer of the Center for Russian Studies in Tel Aviv

Former head of Rusnano Anatoly Chubais became the “organizer of a group of sponsors” opened at Tel Aviv University «Center for Russian Studies» (CRS). 

As noted in the university’s statement, the CRS will study the modern history of Russia after 1991. The center's experts will devote their work to the economy, politics, social and cultural history of modern Russia.

At the same time, the university emphasizes that the project will not carry out political activities and pursues only academic interests and will predict the possible future of Russia based on its recent of the past.

Publicist Alexander Baunov and sociologist Viktor Vakhshtain, recognized in Russia as foreign agents, will take part in the work of the Center.

Professor Itay Sened, who is also the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, will take part in the work of the Center. Tel Aviv University.

Previously, the media reported that Anatoly Chubais, in the previous months of preparation for the creation of the center, was in contact with many researchers working on Russia, including in Riga and the USA.

Recall that  that in March 2022, Anatoly Chubais resigned from the post of special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and left Russia together with his wife Avdotya Smirnova. Later the media reported that they were seen at Tel Aviv airport.
