Joe Biden urged America to «take a closer look.» at his age before being re-elected in 2024, a day after filing for a second term.
The president, who is 80 years old and the oldest in US history, admitted he «may» 39 ;I don't even say the number" because it "does not register" with him.
In his most outspoken comments regarding his age, Mr. Biden said he was «excited.» about his bid for re-election, adding that voters «judge whether I have it or not.»
The Democrat also hit back at polls suggesting most Americans don't want him to run, pointing to «overwhelmingly positive results.» in polls asking «people what kind of job I do.»

He added that the Americans «are going to judge whether I have it or not.» when they watched the 2024 presidential race.
"I respect them [for] paying close attention to this. I would also take a close look at this. I looked carefully before I decided to run. I feel good and excited about the prospects" he said.
On Monday, Biden announced his campaign, asking Americans for an opportunity to «get the job done.» If re-elected, he will be 86 at the end of his second term.
The octogenarian president is facing no major challenges within his party while Donald Trump remains Republican leader.
This means the 2024 race will be a contentious repeat of the 2020 election between the pair.
Press conference
During a rare White House press conference with South Korean President Yoon Seok Yeol, Mr. Biden said he might not be the only potential challenger who could beat Mr. Trump in 2024, but that he knows him well.
& #34;I may not be the only one, but I know him well and I know what a danger he poses to our democracy" Mr. Biden said, adding, «We've walked this path before.»

Mr. Biden asked if he would run if Mr. Trump didn't run. said: "Yes, I think I would still be running if he wasn't'
He added: "We have to finish the job, nail it down.& #34;
Polls show that most Americans are not thrilled that Mr. Biden is running again, as his age is a major issue. Mr. Biden appeared unchanged in the poll, insisting on Wednesday that his current approval ratings are similar to those of his predecessors.
"This is nothing new. You're doing it like Biden really went underwater, number one.» he told a White House reporter. "Second, when the same survey data asks… what kind of work did I do, they get overwhelmingly positive results"
