Henry Morris has revealed himself as the man behind The Secret Tory, which has almost 200,000 followers and regularly ridicules high-profile conservatives.
In recent weeks, he has posted posts ridiculing Rishi Sunak, Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock and has targeted the party's river pollution reputation. Conservative MP.
'I could make people laugh'
Mr Morris, originally from Yorkshire, presented himself as the author of the posts in a video mocking Michael Gove and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
In it, he described his time in charge of the account as an «amateurish ridicule» of what he called the «proto-fascist antics» of conservatives.
In an interview with the BBC, he said: «I inadvertently began to parody Marc Francois in the height of Brexit when I was bored between workouts of clients at my gym.
«I remember people at the gym laughing at the account without knowing it was me, and it was very nice to confirm my hunch, that I can make people laugh.
“Other people find they are good at things like ballet or darts. Turns out I'm pretty good at pretending to be a Conservative MP.»
Mr Morris said he was «sorry» if people felt «cheated» to find out the account was not the work of a real Conservative advocate.

He added: «It has more to do with the behavior of the people sitting in Westminster than with my skills as a con artist.»
Mark ne Francois pas
The Marathon Runner created the account in 2019 solely as a parody of Mr. -to François, Chairman of the European Study Group.
It was originally called «Mark ne Francois pas» and made fun of a high-ranking member of parliament, among other things, his history in the territorial army.
In 2020, Mr Francois told the BBC that he had found this the story was «actually quite funny» and was «thick-skinned» enough to accept a good-natured joke.< /p>
