But Boris Johnson's allies accused the prime minister of seeking judicial review because he was worried about his own WhatsApp and that they could prove he was plotting against the former prime minister.
Speech During a trip to Washington, the BBC asked Mr. Sunak if there was something about the embarrassing messages that bothered him.
He said: “No, not at all. I cooperate and provide information for the investigation.
“It actually takes a lot of my own time, but it's right that I do it. But obviously there is one particular case going on at the moment that I can't comment on, but in a broader sense the work that the investigation is doing is important and necessary and all involved should cooperate in a spirit of frankness and transparency. This is what I do and this is what the government does.”
Who could be called prior to the Covid investigation?
When asked if he was pleased that all reports were being submitted for review without editing, he replied: “As I said, it is important for me and others to cooperate with the investigation in a spirit of frankness and transparency.< /p>
«That's what I'm doing. And I spend a lot of time on this because it is important that we learn the lessons of Covid. In addition, due to ongoing litigation. I can't comment further.”
Mr. Sunak added: “The government has already handed out over 55,000 documents, and there's more to come. So I think it shows how serious the government is about this.”
