One of the main objectives of the new law “On Taxi” is the legalization of market participants. With the entry into force of its provisions, all representatives of the industry faced similar problems. These include incomplete readiness of the regulatory framework in the regions, technical problems that reduce the pace of digitalization of control, and regulatory barriers. In addition, the taxi market is faced with economic challenges, such as a reduction in the number of drivers, a shortage of taxi cars and their high cost, and the unavailability of compulsory insurance. As we note, all these problems lead to an increase in the cost of taxi services throughout Russia.
Over the past decades, taxis have become a socially significant service available to almost every person. Tens of millions of citizens travel by taxi every day. The sector provides direct and indirect jobs to more than 10 million people. Therefore, in order to preserve jobs and the availability of taxis for the population, it is necessary to mobilize the forces of all market participants and legislative and executive authorities and departmental structures as soon as possible. Build a constructive dialogue in order to jointly improve the functioning of industry mechanisms. Create a stable foundation for further successful development. The current processes have a negative impact on the taxi industry and affect the wallets of both passengers and drivers.
< p>The first attempt to restore order and establish interaction will be the All-Russian Conference TAXI-2023, which will be held on October 5-6 in Sochi. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, regional authorities from three dozen regions of Russia, leading taxi services and more than 750 taxi companies from all over the country have already confirmed their participation. Also invited to the discussion are all federal departments and structures involved in stabilizing the industry, the insurance community and leading experts.
The taxi industry has high hopes for this event. Personal and direct communication between representatives of government agencies and business should resolve issues of misunderstanding and reduce the level of pressure in the industry.
We plan, through a series of closed meetings at the event site, to develop interaction mechanisms that will soften the adaptation processes to the rules of the new law. We hope that this will help curb the rise in taxi prices, as well as reduce the shortage of drivers in the industry. Irina Zaripova, Chairman of the Public Council for Taxi Development and organizer of the conference
The event will be the first significant event on an all-Russian scale since new requirements in the taxi industry came into force. At it, all market participants will gather to resolve issues of whitewashing the industry. The prospects for using localized cars in taxis will be outlined. Experts will discuss improving safety and quality of services, as well as the problems of rising travel costs.
In addition, the site will host a large-scale industry exhibition. Including the presentation of the first domestic electric car, a car designed specifically for taxis.
