ST. PETERSBURG, April 24 The Syktyvkar city court arrested four people in absentia, including chess player Garry Kasparov* and politician Gennady, who were previously included in the list of terrorists and extremists Gudkov* (also recognized as foreign agents), on charges of creating a terrorist society, the press service of the court reported.
«The court chose a preventive measure for Kasparov* Garry Kimovich, Gudkov* Gennady Vladimirovich, Chirikova* Evgenia Sergeevna, Tyutrin* Ivan Ivanovich ( also included in the list of foreign agents — ed.), accused of creating a terrorist society, its leadership, financing terrorist activities and its public justification,” the message says.
As specified, a criminal case initiated based on materials from the Russian FSB Directorate for the Komi Republic. The defendants are accused under articles 205.1, 205.2, 205.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 2 months.
At the same time, the period of detention of the accused is calculated from the moment of their detention, and in the case of their detention on the territory of a foreign state — from the moment of transfer law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, clarifies the press service of the Syktyvkar City Court.
