Mishustin listed steps to form a new model of economic growth

MOSCOW, May 10. The Russian Federation needs to deploy a new model of economic growth, said the candidate for the post of head of the Russian government Mikhail Mishustin during his speech in the State Duma.
“It is necessary to deploy a new model of economic growth, as the head of state recently spoke about at a meeting with big business,” he said.

Mishustin recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a serious task — by 2030, Russia should become one of the four largest economies in the world in terms of purchasing power parity. “It is necessary not only to increase the gross output of goods and services, but growth must be accompanied by an increase in the level of people’s incomes — while maintaining macroeconomic stability, ensuring technological and financial sovereignty and resolving other significant issues,” he said.

Speaking about what is planned to be done, Mishustin listed a number of steps. According to him, action must be taken primarily by further shaping the supply economy and creating conditions for the opening of new enterprises. In addition, Mishustin noted that it is necessary to increase the volume of industrial production by tens of percent.
“This will require additional investments. And we expect that not only the state, but also business will actively contribute to this, including through participation in the formation of long-term resources in the domestic market,” Mishustin said.
