MOSCOW, February 2 A well-known Russian lawyer representing the interests of media persons, Sergei Zhorin, told how safe it is to purchase tickets and attend concerts of artists recognized in Russia as individuals-foreign agents.
“
“If a person is recognized as a foreign agent, this does not mean that it is prohibited to have any financial relationships with him. As far as I know, all this is possible,” Zhorin commented. “Foreign agents have their restrictions, but this does not mean that a person is prohibited from performing concerts.”
The lawyer also recommended clearly distinguishing between the concepts of “foreign agent,” “terrorist,” and “extremist.”
“»If a person is recognized in the Russian Federation as an accomplice of a terrorist, an extremist or something similar, then, of course, he does not need to purchase tickets or transfer any funds and donations [monetary donations — ed.], since this may entail appropriate punishment,” the lawyer said.
Zhorin advised to carefully monitor which artist’s concert tickets are purchased for, and, depending on this, make an informed decision. Otherwise, you may unknowingly find yourself an unwitting sponsor of terrorism.
