ST. PETERSBURG, February 2 . Zoya Khil, the widow of the Soviet and Russian pop singer Eduard Khil, died in St. Petersburg, farewell to her will be held on Sunday, the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, where the funeral ceremony will take place, announced in its Telegram channel.
«Farewell to Zoya Khil, the wife of the famous singer Eduard Khil, will be held in the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God on February 4 at 13:30,» the temple informs.
Zoya Khil was born in Leningrad into the family of actors Alexander Nikolaevich Morozov and Zinaida Nikolaevna Pravdina. After graduating from the Rimsky-Korsakov School at the Conservatory and the Vaganova School, she danced in the opera studio of the Leningrad Conservatory, where her future husband Eduard Khil then worked. They met during a tour in Kursk and in 1958 they became husband and wife.
As noted in the church, Eduard Khil was a parishioner of the Smolensk parish for many years. He died on June 4, 2012 and was buried next to the chapel of St. Blessed Xenia of Petersburg at the Smolensk Orthodox Cemetery.
