MOSCOW, February 28 Executive Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) allowed representatives of Russia and Belarus to act as technical delegates at continental championships, with the exception of the European Championships, according to the official website of FIG.
The FIG Executive Committee takes place from February 27 to 29 in Uganda.
It is noted that the European Championships are from the list of continental championships were excluded to avoid conflicts of interest. This decision comes into force immediately and applies to all disciplines.
FIG technical delegates for the period 2022-2024 are Russians Dmitry Andreev (men's artistic gymnastics), Lyubov Andrianova (women's artistic gymnastics), Irina Nikitina (acrobatic gymnastics ) and Vladislav Oskner (aerobics).
In July, FIG announced the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions in a neutral status from January 1, 2024. Eligibility criteria were released in November. Later, the General Assembly of the European Gymnastics Union voted against the return of athletes and officials from Russia and Belarus to official European competitions from January 1, 2024.
