MOSCOW , February 10The Russian Academy of Sciences is participating in the development of new approaches to military conflicts of the future, in tracking trends in the development of weapons, the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov said in an interview.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking on Thursday at the State Kremlin palace at a gala evening on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, thanked the Academy of Sciences for effectively resolving issues of the country's defense capability and security.
According to Krasnikov, a special military operation is a modern military conflict: “new weapons are constantly being improved there , new techniques, new approaches.”
“And, of course, it is very important to monitor these rates. Including looking at how military operations will develop in the future,” he emphasized.
The “defense” subprogram of the fundamental scientific research program for 2021-2030 is currently being implemented, Krasnikov recalled.
“We, together with our law enforcement agencies, and with all general designers of military equipment, and with our technological leaders directions initially compiled such a research program. We understand what indicators the final products should achieve,” he noted.
“The Academy, of course, is in the thick of all these events,” Krasnikov added.
