    The Hermitage will restore the belongings of the ex-Sultan of Oman in the laboratory

    MUSCAT, 23 February, Yulia Troitskaya. Specialists from the State Hermitage will help restore the things of the late Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said in the way they created his palace has a permanent laboratory, Secretary General of the country's National Museum Jamal bin Hassan al-Musawi said in an interview.
    “Russian specialists, especially from the Hermitage, are involved in the restoration work of historical objects from Oman… Also, the State Hermitage provides services for the creation of a permanent laboratory for the restoration of objects that belonged to the Sultan: graphics, paintings, canvases and furniture. This will be a unique laboratory in the palace of the late Sultan. Specialists from the Hermitage have already arrived, made the first assessment, and work will continue this year,” noted al-Musawi.
    According to him, last year a number of items that belonged to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said had already been restored. “These items will be on display at his former palace, the Beit Greyze estate, when it officially opens to the public later this year,” the secretary general added.
